I used a number 2 V from a cheap speedball set. Its all in the wrist! I sort of just flick bits out. Apparently some artists in Europe use a needle to take out tiny pieces and these look like mezzotints. I have not seen this, just heard about it.

That's amazing -- almost looks like a wood engraving. Which tools did you use to cut it?
