The artist statement I wrote at the time was "This print is about individual and societal failure to carry out acts of compassion. When we fail to help others the ripple effect of neglect spreads, eventually encompassing ourselves."
I really like this image, also. I enjoyed looking at it as it reverberates and echos and spirals down. It definitely created an emotional reaction. Very well done!
The Linocutter blog is dedicated to printmaking as I am a member of Baren, a international group of printmakers who are interested in relief printmaking techniques. You should look them up if you aren't a member. http://www.barenforum.org/
Lots of good information on their site.

I really lie the image, the technique and execution! Very cool. Is there a story behind the image, would love to hear it, well, read it actually.
ReplyDeleteHi thanks for that.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, exquisite prints - every one of them. I especially like the more abstract - they are very powerful. The crows are magnificent!
